Burn-XT Review

As most people – apart from everyone involved in the Police Academy movie series – would agree, quality is better than quantity.

This certainly appears to be the attitude of supplement company Jacked Factory, whose new fat burner, Burn-XT has just 5 active ingredients. Honestly that feels like a low number to us, but at the end of the day the only figure we’re interested in is yours.

If Burn-XT can help you achieve the kind of physique you’re working towards and they’re cutting excess weight instead of costs, then they can put as many or as few components in there as they want.

Burn-XT Jacked Factory

We’ve had a few questions about it land in our inbox recently, probably thanks to its ‘3 stage thermogenic formula‘ promising to:

  • Burn fat
  • Boost energy
  • Suppress hunger pangs

So we already know Burn-XT is light on quantity but is it short changing us on that all-important quality?

At least we’ll be playing with a full deck. As we’ve seen with other Jacked Factory reviews there are no proprietary blends. Everything you need to know is right there on the label, ingredients and individual dose. First box ticked.

How Does It Work?

At a Glance

  • Acetyl-L-Carnitine to boost energy
  • Green tea to promote thermogenesis
  • Caffeine to stimulate the metabolism
  • Cayenne pepper to support more thermogenesis.

The Scores

The Scores

Every ingredient in this formula is bringing something to the table. The most impressive choice is green tea. It’s a proven performer and the amount is pretty much spot on.

Caffeine is also well dosed, many brands go way over the top with that. Cayenne pepper is our number one pick for thermogenesis, and aceytl-L-carnitine has an extremely strong clinical pedigree in a number of relevant areas.

We’ve only marked it down because for a burner that boasts help controlling appetite, we’re not seeing a whole lot here specifically to do that. It’s called Burn-XT for a reason, it’s heavily focused on thermogenesis.

Anything under $30 for a burner – unless it’s just utterly god awful – is pretty reasonable.

For a good quality fat burner from a good quality company it represents top value.

Testimonials is one area we’d like to see Jacked Factory making a much bigger effort in. Yes, user feedback on the product is all positive, hence the decent score.

But they are missing the in-depth user stories and the detail that let’s us know exactly how other customers got on, how it affected them and what was so good about the product.

These are all potentially useful ingredients on full view to the customers, so no worries about safety or hiding any facts. There is nothing in the formula or in the way the company does business that would lead us to drop marks on the trust front.

Jacked Factory are a pretty slick looking company with a modest range of over a dozen supplements. They mainly focus on fat burners, muscle builders and cognitive products. They lay out a very impressive sounding philosophy in their literature, but we would’ve preferred to see a bit more company background info.

That said we know all their products are made in the U.S.A in CGMP facilities and are subject to strict manufacturing regulations. Arguably when it comes down to it that’s the most important thing.

How Do I Take It?

Users should 1 serving of 2 caps in the morning with water then anther serving of the same 5 or 6 hours later.

Any Burn-XT Side Effects?

As with any fat burner that contains caffeine, you would need to be careful how much additional caffeine you consumed. At 270mg we wouldn’t recommend you drinking coffee or energy drinks, let’s put it that way.

Where Can I Get It?

Burn-XT is available directly from Jacked Factory.

Ingredients – In Detail

Aliases : Acetyl L-Carnitine

A compound capable of reducing the effects of age and disease on mitochondria, and improving the efficiency of the transfer of fatty acids into useable energy, meaning less excess gets stored as fat.

The list of benefits is pretty impressive when you start looking into it. Reducing fatigue, improving blood vessel health, protecting neurons in the brain and repairing damaged cells.

Amongst many others, it has delivered high consistency in clinical research ;

Reducing blood glucose, fat mass, fatigue, muscle damage and muscle soreness.

Increasing fat oxidation, muscle carnitine, anaerobic muscle capacity, attention, blood flow and cognition.

Acetyl L-Carnitine has ultimately proven to be contentious in relation to fat loss. Theoretically it should demolish fat, and indeed this appears to be borne out in practice for gym goers using it as a supplement – the argument relates to why this happens.

The received wisdom is that all other benefits it provides that gets you feeling better and working out in the gym harder. It’ll deliver a sizeable energy boost which can be put to good use in the gym.

Green Tea

Green Tea

Key to any fat burner’s effectiveness is it’s thermogenic profile and they don’t come much more impressive than this powerful antioxidant. Green Tea’s catechins stimulate a fat burning hormone called norepinephrine, which naturally raises the body temperature, increasing the number of calories burnt.

Reducing fat mass, carbohydrate absorption, LDL-C and blood glucose.

Increasing fat oxidation, blood flow, cognition and subjective wellbeing.

It should be noted that to really accelerate the benefits of Green Tea extract it’s worth tackling bioavailability. Burn-XT does this via Bioperine (as you’ll see below), but Quercetin would have been another option.

Caffeine / Caffeine Anhydrous

Caffeine / Caffeine Anhydrous

The first burner regular. Caffeine is a great choice for two reasons; firstly it speeds up your metabolism, burning through far more fat, and secondly it provides energy to help you avoid the slumps that normally come with a low calorie diet.

The ‘Anhydrous’ part refers to the fact that the water is removed to leave a white, crystalline powder with concentrated potency.

Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne is one of the best natural ways of starting thermogenesis in the body. The capsaicin in this ingredient melts away extra calories by heating the body up, then expends more again as our system tries to cool back down.

Acts via adrenaline receptors and TRPV1.

A brand name for black pepper extract (piperine) included to help absorb the active ingredients by modifing supplement and drug metabolism.

Piperine inhibits the natural enzymes in your system which detoxify drugs. This creates bioavailability – the ingredients are not attacked by enzymes and can be used by your body

Anything Missing?

More of an appetite suppressing profile would be nice. The energy side of things could use slight improvement. Obviously the caffeine will give you a fair kick but a selection of B vitamins is also sometimes good for slightly more gentle stamina support.

Ultimately though, for the price we feel a bit cheeky asking for more, it’s not an expensive product.

It’s not perfect, there are areas where it could be improved. However you always have to consider that in the context of the price. Overall this is a good product from a good company, and you’d be hard pushed to find a better alternative in that price range.

If your budget doesn’t stretch to the premium products at the top end of the market, you could do a lot worse than Burn-XT.

does this product have any percentage of dnp?

    • Harry McKay 3rd February 2019

      Hi Delmy,

Lol – no. DNP is a toxic pesticide and was banned in 1938. It’s in our list of dangerous ingredients to beware of -> https://www.ruddrootsparents.org/articles/best-fat-burners/#top-3-beware.

Don’t get me wrong, you can still buy it online. From shady ‘entrepreneurs’ who are here today and gone tomorrow. Along with your health if you take it (and potentially your life, there are many DNP related deaths sadly). There is no chance of a proper established company manufacturing in a cGMP facility in the USA adding DNP into their product.

      Hope this helps,

Do you think taking this in the morning kicks you out of a fasted state?

  • Vince 1st April 2019

I’m curious about that myself. I am betting not, but i can’t know for sure. I eat between 11am and 7pm, and it wants us to take it upon waking (5:30am for me)

  • Quiana Howard 4th April 2019

This company pays for positive reviews. They will email you after purchase and offer you a free bottle for a review. It is a fairly good product put as you stated not the best.

    • Harry McKay 6th April 2019

Thanks for the comment Quiana – I didn’t realize they did that. However I wouldn’t say that offering you a free bottle is the same as paying you cash. If you didn’t like the product, why would you want a free bottle of it?

It’s an incentive to encourage customers who had a good customer experience and enjoyed the product to write a review, people get bombarded with requests for reviews, whether it’s Amazon, Feefo, TrustPilot. Personally I don’t think it reflects that badly on Jacked Factory.
